SCI Lesson (CHC3B)

Back to SCI and yet another question and answer section. This one was actually very interesting and something I hadn't expected at the beginning of the course.

In it I learnt not only about the basics of writing (starting points, structure etc) but also about social values within Children's literature and also other issues such as censorship, stereotypes, propaganda and realism vs fantasy and how Children differentiates between the two.

Questions were raised in this section that I wasn't really thinking about going into the course such as when do children generally become aware of death, not to dumb down the story. In other words not to underestimate the intelligence of the reader and the dangers of writing dialect.

I must say it was a good read and with the exam I did the usual with another 90%, missing two questions in the process.
