For this section I decided to send in the story I actually had already written, just to see what feedback I would get back from it and if my Instructor thought it was good enough to be published.
'Beware Of The Teacher' is a poem about my thoughts of my teachers when I was growing up. I remember when I was in school and the questions I had about what my teachers did after the school day had ended. Up until I saw one of them outside of school I figured they were just put away in that cupboard at the back of the classroom with all the paper and crayons!
It is over the top and starts off:
If you're at school,
While reading this book.
Stop for a minute,
Give your teacher a look.
Is he twitching badly?
And scratching his head?
Are both his eyes the same color
Or is one of them RED!
This was my Instructors comments:
'In one of my reincarnations I was a teacher. My students were much older [than described] but the same rule applied. I could see the look of surprise in their faces if they met me in the Mall....and the absolute shock if I was with my mother! They were seniors but still expected me to stay behind and vanish into the walls'.
The comments ended with 'You'd have to choose your publisher, but for some publishers it would be great fun'. Success.
