First Competition Of The Year!

So it is the start of the new year and the competitions are coming thick and fast. This month I get to enter this one through 'Glimmer Train Press' which requires a short fiction story of no more than 1500 words.

Later this month there is a competition of a similar specification through the local Public Radio station and Central PA magazine. The deadline for that is for the entry to be postmarked by the end of this month (which it will be as soon as I get ink for my printer!). Then of course you have the Three Minute Fiction, national competition but I did vow never to enter that again, but temptation has got the best of me and so I will submit something.

Fingers crossed again as they were with the Roald Dahl residency program. That actually has ended now with an email response stating that my application had been unsuccessful at this time. Although a little disappointed I am not overly sad. It would have been a spectacular opportunity had it come my way but in all honesty I am not sure how I could have made the trip over there and stayed three months at this particular time in my life.

On the plus side, they have been running this program for numerous years and so there is always next time.
