Premier League Predictions

At this point in seasons previous there would be a significant gap in the various sections of the league which would allow us to start looking at where their goals for the transfer window, January and for the rest of the season could be clearly defined. While six points separate the top four teams the same amount of points split the whole bottom half of the league, 11 teams. That means that every week now and in the immediate future we will be seeing some key games on a weekly basis.

Chairmen In The News - My Views

It doesn't seem that long ago that we were talking about Vincent Tan, the Cardiff City chairman doing a Miley Cyrus on his own club as he came in like a wrecking ball. He changed the teams colors, removed a key staff member from under the nose of his manager, then removed the manager. A few weeks on though and we have two more cases of chairmen gone wild and actions that could leave their individual sides in turmoil.

MLS: The Beginning Of The End??

After a few years of progression on the Worlds stage the USA are now involved in full retreat and this could probably signal the beginning of the end for MLS. That is a very bold statement but give me this article and I will explain exactly what I mean.

Premier League Preview: January 11th - 13th

After the busy Christmas period the Premier League returns to some normalcy now with one game a week for a little while. Arsenal start the weekend in top spot and theoretically the leader could change twice before Arsenal reclaim their position on Monday. Now is the time when any small slip up from the top sides could certainly stop their title charge in their tracks.

December Manager Of The Month: Manuel Pellegrini

It would certainly have given Manchester United boss David Moyes something else to chuckle at when it comes to decisions from the FA, but in the end the right man won. Can you imagine the phone calls into various talk shows from United fans had the FA given David Moyes the Manager of the Month award for December?

Yaya Toure: Confederation of African Footballer of the Year

To be fair, it wasn't really in doubt, but yesterday the Manchester City and Ivorian Coast powerhouse Yaya Toure, won the African Footballer of the Year award. It is the third consecutive year that Yaya has won the award, matching that of Samuel Eto'o, who did the same thing almost a decade ago.

West Bromwich Albion: Baggies Now Have Some Pepe In Their Step!

Well it is finally here and West Brom have announced their new manager, Pepe Mel. This is the same guy who was spoken to about the vacancy back in December but was ruled out after wanting to bring his own backroom staff with him.

4,000 Fans Don Red And Black Scarves Three Years Ago Today

Three years ago Manchester City took the field away to Leicester City in the FA Cup. More than 4,000 traveling fans wear red and black scarves as a tribute for former Manchester City forward, forever legend and terminally ill Neil Young. As you all know Neil had been battling a long time with cancer and was honored at both this Leicester City FA Cup tie and the reply back at the Etihad. Almost poetically City were drawn against the side where he scored the winning, and only goal some 40+ years ago to lift the trophy for City.

Sepp Blatter Concerned Over Brazil 2014

What is going on with the World Cups right now? Sepp Blatter, the FIFA President recently came out and said he wasn't impressed with Brazil with half of the stadiums failing to meet the December 31st deadline. Yes the World Cup doesn't kick off until June but the fact that the preparations are behind, even though they had seven years to prepare rather than the usual six most countries have, doesn't point to a very successful competition.

Capital One Cup: Manchester City v West Ham

Manchester City will host West Ham in the first leg of the Capital One Cup Semi Final later today with the hopes of the first available Wembley visit on the horizon for both clubs. While West Ham might be viewing this as a distraction from their league plight, a good result for them tonight could give them a boost for the weekend.

When Will We Theo Again?

When the young Arsenal winger was taken off in the FA Cup against Tottenham Hotspur all the focus was on his gesture to the traveling fans. Illustrating the scoreline of 2-0 caused such an uproar resulting in the FA just reminding Theo Walcott of his responsibilities. It was not thought his injury was all that serious as he sat smiling on the stretcher.

Capital One Cup: Sunderland v Manchester United

Sunderland are short in the defensive area of the pitch, which may benefit Manchester United going into tomorrows Capital One Cup Semi Final first leg at the Stadium of Light. To be fair though it is not the case that David Moyes side has much trouble winning away but do struggle when they are at home at Old Trafford.

West Ham Statement: Big Sam Still The Man

Currently second from bottom in the Premier League West Ham United have made it to the Semi Final of the Capital One Cup where they face Manchester City over two legs. Despite the League position the West Ham fans should be excited about the Semi Final but instead have focused on their managers decision to play a weakened side this past weekend in the FA Cup, resulting in a 5-0 defeat to lower opposition.

The Best Of English Supporters - And It Will Not Make Any Headlines!

English supporters do not always get shown in the best of lights from the media and certainly the reputation of the hooligan aspect of the 1980's seems only to ever be just bubbling under the surface.

Eusebio 1942 -2014

Today the world of football said goodbye to one of the best from an era of greats. Aged 71, and only twenty days away from his birthday the world woke up to the news that Portuguese great Eusebio had passed away.

Has The FA Cup Lost Its Appeal

According to Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert the FA Cup is a distraction which, if managers were more honest, they would rather not participate in. Well, luckily for Lambert, his side are out of the competition right now and can concentrate on trying to stay in the Premiership. But does what he have to say ring true? Has the FA Cup lost its appeal?

FA Cup: Liverpool v Oldham Pits Father Against Son

When Oldham travel to Liverpool later today it will come as great relief for Lee Johnson who will no doubt tell his boys to just enjoy the day. Struggling in the division two down from their hosts Sunday it will be a good day out against some top class players, but shouldn't distract from their ultimate goal, staying up.

Top 5 Most Important New Years Day Goals.

January 1st sees the last of the crazy run of Premier League games over the festive season. On Boxing Day, on another site, I had looked at to top five most important goals for teams on that day. Due to the response I got from that I figured I would do the same on here for the New Years Day Premier League match schedule.
