As a kid who didn't like reading the wonderful books of Roald Dahl? Here is my second poem on the great man and his contribution to smiling Children all across the globe!

He excited us, scared us
Made us cry, made us laugh,
The genius of Dahl
Me, Pelly and a Giraffe
Well strike that, reverse it!
Its giraffe, pelly and me
And don't forget James
And his Giant Peach
He introduced us
To characters so vile
The Twits, The Witches
And an Enormous Crocodile!
But the children more humble
Cunning and clever
Were the ones with an ending
Who lived happily forever
Like Charlie with his factory
The boy so very poor
Honest and delightful
Got more than he wished for
Or Matilda, the young girl
Oh so very bright
Handled Miss Trunchbull
With mind over might!
Let us not forget George
Whose Marvelous medicine brew
Made mean grandma grow really big
Before shrinking back out of view!
Fantastic Mr Fox,
The loveable BFG
Revolting Rhymes
And Dirty Beasts!
This man had talent
He was not afraid to be
Writing from a child eye
Especially for me!
